The Americans with Disabilities Act sets specific guidelines for most architectural signage. Almost all architectural signage, whether interior or exterior, that identifies, directs or informs those within a facility must be ADA compliant. EGI specializes in producing, manufacturing, and installing ADA signs that adhere to all codes and regulations, and can provide ADA sign systems in a variety of styles and materials.
For most applications, EGI recommends signs manufactured with chemically welded tactile letters. EGI’s CHEMWELD product line is ideal for the facility requiring a tamper-resistant, long-lasting sign system. Whether a corporate office, school, university, library, hospital or another high-traffic area, the CHEMWELD sign system is ideal if you want to get the most out of your investment.
This one-piece sign is ADA-compliant with raised letters, characters and domed Grade 2 raster™ braille and can be designed in many different colors, shapes and sizes. These signs are UV stable for exterior use and have a durable, scratch-resistant finish. Beveled and bull-nose edges, assorted corner styles, and other modifications are also possible.
In order to achieve this durable sign system, EGI uses a combination of physical pressure and a chemical welding agent to bond letter material to the backplate of a sign, resulting in a one piece sign that is virtually vandal-resistant. CHEMWELD signs have a limited lifetime warranty.
As a cost-efficient alternative to the CHEMWELD line, EGI’s surface-applied signs are designed similarly to their CHEMWELD counterparts; however, these high-quality signs are not tamper-resistant. This sign has tactile letters and symbols, Grade 2 raster™ braille, and is fully ADA-compliant, ideal for some corporate offices, religious institutions, and other low-traffic areas.
EGI can also provide ADA signs made of assorted acrylics, photopolymer, and architectural resins and laminates.
